The 2019 Yamaha YZF-R3 has been showcased at Yamaha’s Press Premiere a day ahead of the 2018 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The new-gen motorcycle comes with revised design and suspension setup in a bid to make it more relevant in the current market. Yamaha has incorporated a trickled-down version of YZF-R1’s design language, which makes the motorcycle appear a lot more compact than the previous-gen bike. However, the dimensions have remained unchanged while the kerb weight is down from 173kg to 169kg.
For 2019, the R3 employs 37mm Kayaba inverted front forks and a rear monoshock. Brakes are the same 298mm front and 220mm rear combo, with dual-channel ABS. The new motorcycle is likely to be launched in India by mid-2019. If Yamaha decides to launch the motorcycle, expect the Japanese brand to launch it with telescopic front forks instead of the sophisticated (and pricey) USDs.
