Made-in-India Honda Amaze has scored an impressive 4 stars in a crash test conducted by Global NCAP. The Amaze sold in Africa was used for the test as a part of Safer Cars For Africa campaign. The car fared well with respect to adult occupant safety but scored a mediocre 1 star in child safety.
Previously, Honda launched the CVT automatic transmission in the VX flagship variant of the Amaze. Earlier, the CVT transmission was only available with the mid S and V variant.The petrol VX CVT is priced at Rs 8.57 lakh and the diesel VX CVT is priced at Rs 9.57 lakh.The price jump from the V CVT to the VX CVT for both engine options is Rs 41,000. And, the price jump from VX MT to the VX CVT in petrol and diesel engine option is Rs 83,000 and Rs 73,000, respectively.
Honda had also mentioned that the CVT variants account for over 20 per cent of the Amaze’s sales and that the sub-compact sedan has contributed to 46 per cent of total HCIL sales in FY 2018-19.
